Hair and Makeup.

I had my first hair and makeup trial today - hair I'm relaxed about, didn't want anything super complex. makeup is harder, since i Never wear real face skin makeup stuff, seeing myself covered is weird. it was fairly light and didn't make me look even to the point of horrific porcelain doll face - it's still an adjustment.

She was nice, a bit scattered, but I like her - and I don't know anyone else who will travel and do only two people without a billion dollar minimum. anyone? anyone??

save the dates? design officially approved and sent to the printer.
rubber stamp? approved and getting made.
calligrapher? check sent, totally excited.
custom hairpin? deposit sent, color swatch chosen.. set to be painted in August/July.

... application to Martha Stewart Weddings...? err.. my designer sent it to me super excited and told me to try for it... I don't think my wedding is high in the details, nor is it in the budget of a lot of those weddings.

oh, and my appointment to try on my possible second wedding gown, set.
i feel very accomplished.

things we haven't done anything about: cake. insurance. music. accessories for me, clothes for rob. purchasing decorations... or finalizing what they will be ;_;

finalizing catering menu... fun fun fun.

-----
we're working on the guest list. :( it's tough, with only 100 spots and most of them taken by my family, it's just a mess trying to decide who to invite. Rob's lucky, his list of friends is all on there because it's short... mine is HUGE and I know I can't get everyone. ;_;

and less than 100 seats total, yea, no one can bring a date unless we're friends with both sides of the couple or they're married. ;_; How do you go about making people feel like you wish you could invite them, but... your family is gigantic?

(it only got bigger now that more people in my family moved to CA or NY and they all want to use my wedding as an excuse to get together.. and more family from Korea and Canada will be attending my wedding than at my sister's, so my family's list is just ridiculous... and they're not even distant family. ;_; )

boring wedding junk - shoe advice and whatnot needed.

Ok, R is short. I think we determined he's only 2 inches taller than me - and well, we're getting married on grass. So that means I have two reasons to go with flats/low wedge heels.

I don't have a white-white dress, it's ivory/latte slip, so it's a warm color... so shoes? I thought maybe I could go with one of my other colors. green, brown, raspberry, pink...

or just stick with warm whites with gold (i don't like gold, but it will match) accents:

a light silver-gold toned ballerina slipper:

cream cut-out patent slippers:

and here, I hate being weird and posting pictures of other people's weddings... but this one looks totally perfect. And I want the shoes, they would match my damned gown:

any help? In my fantasy world, price is no object, so if you see $5k shoes that would be perfect for my wedding, show them to me so I can at least weep.

----------
So I'm allowed to get the second dress. Here is my thought:
1) I can use the dress money to order the dress this week. (it's a rush order already, can't wait much longer...)
2) I can save the money and put it towards my wedding ring should the one I want be more than what R intends to put into it. (I haven't picked it because my setting isn't done and I want my final setting before trying on rings)
3) I don't know if I will need to put more money towards the ring, so I may end up with the right ring with just R's funds and not having ordered the dress and feeling stupid (but with extra money to go towards... who knows what, bed frame?)

r: if you end up not needing it for the wedding band, but didn't use it on a dress, why not but some other nice wedding jewelry, like that necklace you like?
s: but i thought you were going to get that FOR me.
*r looks at me like I'm crazy, probably right about that, and that he loves me for it*

It's officially 6 months until I'm permanently off the market. Get your bids in now~ the auction is closing!

Vendor Gifts.

While we were in Japan we offered to pick up various things for vendors. Japan is notoriously stiff about sending internationally, but luckily, my company does just that.... so I bought tons of stuff.

I'm glad that I could help them out by getting them design books, gifts, and magazines - hopefully they find something in what they got that inspires them in their designs for us!

We're back from Japan.

I want an orla kiely dress so bad it hurts. it may be cramps, but I'll just say it's my uteral lining crying out for external orla kiely coverage. I may settle for another dvf item. or an anthropologie trip... I can't find my wallet. hm. plot or fate?

I'm still looking for wedding shoes.
still contemplating a second dress. (r says I sell $1k clothes, I can get the second dress)
still looking for hair/makeup person.
still thinking about a cake and need to email the person who is making my invitations because I'm a mess.
