Jewelry and Accessories...

Rob and I haven't thought much about this. He's just going to wear a tie - it'll be hot, so he doesn't have to think much further than that.

But me? SHOES. I have no idea - I want to wear flats or wedges because it's outdoors and I'll sink into dirt or grass otherwise, but all the shoes I love have heels. Anyone have ideas? I don't mind wearing pink or brown shoes as I don't think ivory is easily matched anyway. I might change my sash color to match, also.

And jewelry? I have the unfortunate dilemma of having stretched my earlobes to 2gauge holes, I am/was into body modifications. Those are my only visible piercings, and so I can't wear regular earrings. I need to either find some large plugs to go into my holes or something that loops through the tunnel I currently have. It's hard to picture if you don't know anyone with piercings, so I'll try and take a photo.

I need help desperately!

If you have seen my ring, it's very cute and Rob had it custom made for me.... but in reality, it wasn't really made to have a wedding band next to it. So we've decided that the wedding band remaining a constant in my life is far more important that preserving the current setting of my engagement ring. Here are my two ideas for a new setting:

1. move all my current side stones to a channel setting in the band.
2. or change my ring to a vintage setting by moving my sidestones into a channel setting and bezel setting my centerstone with milgrain and tiny diamond detailing all around, like this except smaller and without princess cut sides.

The first is simpler, more classic and easier to appreciate the center stone itself. The second is more ME though, with all my vintage furniture and obsession with my 1920's home and all things retro. Rob and I considered that in 10 years I may want to get it reset, so which of the rings will last those number of year?

the un-bride.

Tomorrow is our floral designer meeting.. and my mom's birthday, which is second to the meeting because she's being a pain about the invite list. If you hate weddings and don't want to come or be invited so you feel obligated but don't want to waste a saturday watching rob and I get married... and me hating my life, let me know. :P

you know, the closer it gets, the more I regret giving in to having a wedding. I should have stuck to my guns about the civil ceremony.

So we're slowly moving through the process.

We have almost worked out all the kinks with the venue. I want rob to hurry up and sign the contract, but we're waiting to hear from one of the catering options if they are available that day so we at least have two choices.

We're currently talking with a photographer about making an appointment to meet with her, our planner has given us a few others that we will be contacting to see more of their work.

In more exciting news, I went to relish at home and saw the hairpins I will most likely be ordering for myself and my sister.... and she immediately told the designer that I am getting all my letterpressing done with... who emailed my coordinator and told her that I went to the shop. It's funny, they're all friends and word spreads.

In other news, this is what I got from relish at home:

Collecting Danish....

The perfect (second only to my favorite Arne Vodder Credenza that I have no room for...) credenza, teak, 1950's with tambour doors. A wonderful piece to add to the collection.

Danish loveseat reupholstered with french stripe fabric. We're moving this into the living room once we find the perfect coffee table and rug... and nesting side tables.

You know, we still don't have a bed frame. We are wasting money on furniture when we are still sleeping on a mattress on the floor!!! Our priorities are a little skewed.
